What the statuses mean

LiveReturning data within its normal interval.
No dataWe are still calling it, but it has returned nothing for longer than expected. Sometimes that genuinely means nothing happened.
DownWe have not managed to reach it recently. Usually the provider changed or retired the endpoint.
OptionalNeeds a key or approval that has not been set up. The site works without it.

Why we publish this

Feeds get retired. During the build of this site alone, five sources we relied on were moved or shut down by their owners — a news feed here, a UN API version there.

An automated check runs every hour and emails us the moment a source goes quiet, so a silent gap in coverage gets fixed rather than quietly becoming the new normal. Publishing the same information means you can judge the data for yourself.

Full method: how we track incidents.
